Biography: I was born in Belize and raised in Los Angeles, California. I will be attending the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) throughout the next 4 years of my life (Class of 2019). As an aspiring physician/surgeon, I will be majoring in Pre-med/ Psychology while minoring in the History of Science and Medicine. I chose UCLA without a doubt because I knew that it was a school that excelled in the health sciences and offers a great psychology program. I am a Apple Enthusiast, a Nike fanatic, as well as a Starbucks Aficionado. I also enjoy various physical pursuits such as running, Swimming, and Hiking. During my time in high
school, I was a member of my school's varsity cross country and track & field team. I have also volunteered at California Hospital Medical Center to explore my interests in the medical field as well as to gain some exposure to the healthcare setting. It was during my high school years that I developed a love for the great outdoors as well as an interest for the physical pursuits that I mentioned, due to the fact that I often engaged in these activities as part of my sport's training regime. Aside from being a health-oriented person, I also enjoy playing video games, being social, going to the movies, amusement parks, and museums, as well as hanging out having a good time with friends while making new ones. As a person who believes in Astrology as well as the information that is depicted in each of the 12 horoscopes (astrological signs), I do believe that Virgos can do well in the medical field. Therefore, As a Virgo who has a strong admiration for the medical field as well as my interest in the life science courses that I have taken throughout high school has influenced my decision on striving for a career in the medical field.
